A very busy last week of term!
Monday’s assembly was led by PC Platts. She came in to discuss how children can make the community a better place for all.
Parents of children who are soon to start Nursery met with Mrs Ford and Mr Lynch as an introduction to our school. The nursery had a busy time as they had turned the week into Festival Week. They made pancakes and celebrated the Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day.
Tuesday was Internet Safety Day where all classes took part in a variety of activities related to keeping children safe on the internet. These activities were shared in Wednesday’s assembly.
Friends of HPS also started making Mother’s Day Bags on Tuesday. They will be in school on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the next 3 school weeks.
Mrs Hill’s Street Dancers performed at the Primary Dance Festival Tuesday. Their dance to a collection of Michael Jackson songs was amazing. The whole of the Winding Wheel were left speechless with the flashing hands at the end of the routine.
Wednesday saw the return of Chesterfield College to work with Ambassadors.
Reception led Wednesday’s assembly informing the rest of the school about the Chinese New Year. They even brought in a wonderful Chinese Dragon!
Mrs Sutton held a parents meeting on Wednesday to discuss the changes to end of year testing to Year 6 parents.
Friends of HPS were in school again on Thursday holding a coffee morning to raise funds.
This week Mindfullness Training started with 4/5S, 6B and 6S.
