25th - 26th July

25th- 26th July

The final 2 days of the school year.

Monday was Sports Day and the weather held.  No rain and not too hot!  Everyone had a brilliant time and the team captains did a wonderful job organising and looking after their teams.  A big thank you to Vision for Education supply agency for providing each child with an ice pop at the end of the day.

The 2p challenge came to its conclusion on Tuesday when all containers were emptied and counted. The School Parliament would like to say ‘thank you’ to everyone who collected 2p coins for the Air Ambulance.  We raised a grand total of £462.60…that’s a massive 23,130 2p coins, measuring a total distance of 578.25 metres!  We would like to give special thanks to some of our ‘Friends of School’ who helped to count all the coins: Mrs Ashmore (Grandma Chris), Mrs Staton (Grandma Sue) and Mrs West.  Also, a big ‘thank you’ goes to Mrs Morris and the staff at Yorkshire Bank, who deposited the coins for us. The class who collected the most 2p coins was Miss Seymour’s Class, they enjoyed a class party as a reward, they kindly invited Miss Garbutt’s class to their party too, as they had come in a close second!

Finally Mr Lynch and the all staff would like to thank parents and children for their continued support this year and hope everyone has a great summer.
