23rd – 27th May

The chicks from Reception visited Nursery on Monday.

It was Miss Seymore’s class assembly this week.  Linked to their growing topic they told us the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and explained how a plant grows.

On Wednesday some of our Year 4 & 5’s took part in the Co-op football tournament.  They had a mixture of wins, draws and losses but Mr Rickles came back to school very enthusiastic about the future of this team.  We can’t wait to see what they achieve next season.

Members from our community joined the school for assembly on Thursday.  They told the children about community events for the Queen’s birthday and the planned Fun Day.

It was great to see Holmewood cricket club coming into school on Thursday to work with the Years 4, 5 & 6.  They were very impressed with some of the bowling.

Friday was Garden Party Day for all the children in Nursery and Reception.  The children have been busy baking so that they can raise lots of enterprise money. Nursery decorated their play area with flowers and made cakes/ buns.  In Reception the children made some flower pot cakes, they were really tasty, and they have made pebble bugs to sell. Everyone has had a great day, and they were so glad the sun popped out for a little while.  The teachers would like to thank everyone who attended and help them raise an amazing £200.

The week ended with our Super Star reveal assembly.  Well done to all our new Super Stars.
