What a week for HPS!
The Green Team led the assembly on Monday. They have introduced recycling paper bins into all classrooms and Miss Richardson set the challenge to design a poster to raise awareness of the bins.
Ofsted visited the school on Tuesday. Mr Lynch would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers that spoke to the Ofsted inspector and took the time to fill in the parent questionnaire. Your time and comments are much appreciated. He would also like to thank all the children who behaved superbly and worked so hard to show Heath Primary School at its best. The report will be available soon.
Parents met with Mrs Wood on Tuesday to look at the school’s new website. They really liked that the website was smart phone friendly and that the schools calendar can be linked to their mobile devises.
Miss Seymore’s Year 1 class led Wednesday’s assembly. They showed their own spacewalk videos and read rhyming couplets about Space.
The Ambassadors received further training from Chesterfield College on Wednesday.
Year 6 pupils went to Castleton on Thursday to visit the Blue John Caverns and find out about the gem stones and mining that has taken place there for over 300 years, this links in with our current Extreme Earth topic. In addition, they also enjoyed a candle making workshop at the local Youth Hostel which had a historical link to the very first miners that would have used candles when they first discovered the caves.
Staff from Hardwick came into school on Thursday. They worked with all children to produce canvasses using natural material and paint.
