Some of our Year 4 and 5 children have been working on the Heath Well Dressing. It has now been displayed in the village. It looks amazing and reflects the children's interest in books.
The Year 6’s performed their final concert at HPS on Monday. They will be missed but the staff wish them all the best at whichever secondary school they are going to.
On Tuesday the Foundation Stage held their Sports Day. It was exceptionally hot but the children had an amazing time.
<font face="arial, sans-serif">The cricket club had their last session after school on Tuesday. Gleeson Homes have sponsored</font> the club and presented the children with a cricket shirt. The club are continuing training for anyone who is interested on a Wednesday evening at 5.00-6.00pm at Holmewood Cricket Club (behind the miners welfare). They will also look at indoor cricket competitions and continue training in January next year.
It was a very special treat for the school as Nursery joined us to lead the assembly. They told the story called Handra’s Surprise with lots of pictures and some wonderful singing.
Parents of the new Super stars joined Mr Lynch to celebrate their children’s success on Thursday.
The week came to an end with everyone wishing they were in Year 6! Again Mrs Sutton has managed to organise her trip to Whitby on a wonderful summers day. The children and Mrs Sutton had a fantastic time, especially as it was fish and chips for lunch followed by a paddle in the sea.
