A very busy last week of term!
Monday and Tuesday was Parents Evening. If you were unable to attend please contact school and teachers can arrange another time for a consultation.
On Monday PC Disney came into school to help celebrate the great unveiling. The 2 winners of the School’s Parliament design a Road Safety Traffic Calming Poster competition saw their designs made up into banners that are now hung outside school.
The Harvest Assemblies were led by Sarah from Heath Church on Tuesday. Thank you to all parents for sending in then buying the food back! We raised a wonderful £125.17 for the Children’s Ward at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
Mr Rickels led the football to another victory on Wednesday. Well done a 3-1 win.
Choir sung at the Winding Wheel Thursday evening. Mrs Sutton was exceptionally pleased with the singing and behaviour of the children. Particularly how well they sung Lions & Tigers and Sing.
The Reception children celebrated the end of their first topic 'What makes a good friend?' by having a Teddy Bears Picnic. All the children wrote an invitation to their teddy, and made their own picnic food. They made yummy sandwiches, and cakes! All the children had a super time and the teddies had fun too!
Miss Flavel's class shared the story books her class wrote with Mrs Brough and Mrs Wood's classes. It was great to hear what the Year 4's had written. The other 2 classes were very impressed.
Grandma Chris visited both Nursery sessions to talk about her Barn Owl. Bess is 6 months old and her visited was a perfect ending to Nursery's topic on 'Owl Babies'.
Finally on Friday Mr Lynch announced our new superstars. Well done to all children who were rewarded with a band.
Finally school is closed for the coming week. School will reopen on Monday 31st October.
