This website contains an introduction to the education offered at this, your Primary School. It cannot give a full picture of what we offer as this will only come about as we all, parents, staff and children, meet each other and work together.
Since our OFSTED report identified us as “an improving school which offers good value for money”,
we have continued to work hard and make changes to improve the school. We continue to work in raising standards in Numeracy, Science and Literacy. We are a leading school for our use of ICT to educate and enthuse our pupils and are proud to say that OFSTED and others have recognised this strength, as a result of which we are included on the SSAT's ICT Register and are currently the Focus School for the East Midlands region.
We have an upward trend in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 results. In recognition of this progress the school has been awarded three Achievement Awards from DFES. We have also gained the Basic Skills Quality Mark which reflects our commitment to high standards in Literacy and Numeracy, the A.B.C. Anti-Bullying Award, Investors in People, Artsmark and Sportsmark awards. All these awards are external recognition of the dedication of all staff towards the achievement of each individual.
The love, encouragement, security and support that parents give to their children are an enormous influence on their educational development. We hope that you will show your children that you have confidence in both them and your School.
We hope that you will take advantage of the regular parental consultations, educational and social events organised by the School and the Home School Association. If any matter ever arises that you may wish to discuss, however small, please do not hesitate to contact the School. We would ask you to ring and make an appointment, especially if the problem might take some time to solve, as our teaching commitment takes priority. We welcome your interest and support.
We will invite you to visit us during the term prior to your child’s entry and we will be able to answer any questions and worries you may have.
