Our topic of Tribes v Pioneers started with an amazing memorable experience!
All children in the phase went into the hall to work in mixed year group and mixed class groups. Each group was given an aerial image of Stonehenge, without being told it was Stonehenge, and asked to create what they thought the monument would look like. Children used biscuits as a medium to create their monument. Once the monuments had been completed then children compared them. Eventually the children realised the aerial photograph was of Stonehenge. We then looked at a variety of photographs and gave a brief outline of where our topic would lead us this term.
The biscuits weren’t wasted as no one had broken the 5 second rule and hands had been washed before we started!
